I build systems that observe, orchestrate, and scale. Currently the Lead Observability Architect at GEICO, where I rebuilt the entire observability platform from the ground up on open standards — handling 500M+ active time series across AWS, Azure, and private cloud. Before that I founded Cloudseed in South Africa, scaling a managed services platform to 2 million users across 2,500 locations. I co-founded yaklab, a software development cooperative dedicated to beautiful software and open source tooling. Three decades in, I still care most about the craft.
Deep technical writing on observability architecture, Go patterns, Kubernetes internals, and OpenTelemetry pipelines.
